About Ely

Ely je škofovsko mesto in civilna župnija v Cambridgeshire, Anglija, ki leži 23 km severovzhodno od Cambridgea in približno 129 km po cesti iz Londona. Etheldred je v Elyu ustanovil samostan leta 673. Samostan je bil uničen v letu 870 ob napadu Dancev. Obnovil ga je Ethelwold, škof Winchesterski leta 970.
